Child’s Life Saved by Security Guard with the Help of Digital Two Way Radio

The benefits of Digital two way radio were recently demonstrated in an incident in Lewisham Shopping Centre in south-east London. Duabo Denni-Fiberesima (known as Denni), a security guard for Senator Security saved the life of 2 year old toddler Peter Griffiths. He was able to get medical support to a former radio dead spot thanks to the improved radio coverage of the Icom IDAS digital radios, supplied by radio communications specialist Wall to Wall Communications.

Denni showed true heroism, responding quickly to the child when he stopped breathing and collapsed. He administered CPR twice until the ambulance arrived at the scene.

Sam Cohen, Managing Director at Wall to Wall said,’ The amazing thing about this incident was that a brand new digital IDAS radio system from Icom was installed just one day before the incident. The improved radio coverage from the new digital radio system may have assisted in saving this little boy’s life. ’
