MSØINT – Dxpedition to the Flannan Islands – Update!

In a Pan-European project, SMØMDG Bjørn, EA3NT Christian, EA2TA George, F4BKV Vincent, IZ7ATN Simon and leader MMØNDX Col activated the remote and extremely difficult to access IOTA group EU118 - Flannan Isles. Lying 20 miles north west of the Outer Hebrides, the Flannan Isles were activated between June 18-21, 2010.

Having loaned two IC-7000 transceivers with interfaces, the whole team agreed these radios were perfect for such a daring expedition. Indeed, 8200 contacts in 66 hours proves this little rig was the ideal choice to use. Light in weight, the IC-7000 really does a pack punch when transmitting. It never once let us down.

Planning for our next trip has already commenced, and given the chance, the whole team would be more than happy to use an Icom IC-7000 again - such was the smoothness of operation.
